DOHA: Qatar Exchange index dropped 38.64 points (0.46%) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 8,409.85 points.
The trading value this week was QR 621,363,350.92, a decrease by 12.40% compared to QR 709,347,690.95 last week.
The trading volume decreased by 6.81% to reach 13,943,348 shares, as against 14,961,659 shares, while the number of transactions fell by 18.40%, to reach 9,912 transactions as compared to 12,147 transactions.
The market capitalization rose by 0.10% to reach QR 460,720,515,394.35 as compared to QR 460,262,629,642.59 at the end of previous week.
From the 42 listed companies 13 ended the week higher while 26 fell and three remained unchanged.
Qatar National Bank (QNB) led the traded value this week, accounting for 15.7% of the total traded value. Industries Qatar accounted for 14.57% and Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 10.33%.
Banks and financial services led the trading value this week, accounting for 51.21% of the total traded value. Industries accounted for 23.03%, consumer goods and services sector accounted for 10.49% and real estate accounted for 6.69%.
Banks and financial services led the trading volume this week, accounting for 49.74% of the total traded volume. Real estate accounted for 14.65%. Industries accounted for 12.06% and consumer goods and services accounted for 8.38%.
Banks and financial services led the number of transactions traded during this week with 42.63% of the total number of transactions. Industries accounted for 19.76%. Consumer goods and services accounted for 12.68% and real estate accounted for 10.84%. (QNA)
