The Museum of Islamic Art Park is a riot of colour with flowers of a wide variety on show during the first Doha International Flowers and Garden Exhibition.
It was a pleasant surprise for visitors to see tulips, poinsettias, roses, daisies, chrysanthemums, carnations and anthuriums displayed in spectacular fashion in one part of the Park.
Considering the country’s climate, many could not believe that all the flowers and ornamental plants — provided by companies dealing in floriculture, horticulture and landscaping — could flourish here. While some of the plants are grown in the companies’ local nurseries, others are sourced from countries that are major players in the floral market, such as Holland, Ecuador, Kenya, Thailand and India.
The three-day expo is open today, its last day, from 12 noon to 10 pm.
