DOHA: Four members of a family were rushed for emergency medical care as they complained of stomach upset, vomiting and diarrhoea immediately after eating meals from a famous restaurant in the city’s Old Airport locality.
A member of the affected family told local Arabic daily Al Raya in remarks published yesterday that he bought chicken, rice and salad for four persons from the restaurant located on the busy Commercial Street of the Old Airport Area.
Immediately after eating the dishes, the four felt nausea and began vomiting. They later suffered from diarrhoea and mild fever.
They called in the ambulance service and were taken to the emergency unit of Hamad General Hospital (HGH) where they are being treated.
A medical certificate issued by the emergency unit said the foursome suffered from food poisoning. They will need treatment for two days.
Doctors attending on the foursome said they had treated four other people for food poisoning before they reported and they had  food from the same restaurant in the Old Airport locality. The affected family has filed a police compliant, according to the daily.
