During the second weekend of November, nearly one hundred DPS Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) students participated in the annual Doha College’s Model United Nations (DCMUN)  conference.

Shwiti Ranade, Vrinda Chenthil Kumar and Sankalp Tiwari chaired the committee with another three students Madhur Vaidya, Nahla Salil and Harini in the press team.

This year’s theme was ‘Humanities legacy’, which focused on the legacy we leave behind due to our actions.

The keynote speaker was   Kamahl Santamaria, a news presenter working in Al Jazeera English. He talked about the importance of our thoughts and actions that are our legacies we leave behind for the future generation.

That weekend, DPS students debated and strived to make a change in the world. They talked about the issues we face today so that we can combat issues that will rise tomorrow.

It is important for us to realise the importance of MUN, in not only breaking our inhibitions but for giving us an opportunity to leave a wonderful legacy behind.

DPS delegates Pratinav Dhamija and Dhananjay Singh were awarded as ‘Best Delegates’; Elsa Mary Philip received the ‘Best Advocate’ award with the School winning the case, and 8 other delegates Jaideep Soodan Singh, Adhrika Singh, Advaita Singh, Ishika Goel, Sai Krishna Bommavarum, Aaryahi Kamath, Ahmed Reza, Palak Barman received honourable mention.
