Doha: With wide participation of students in an atmosphere full of enthusiasm, excitement and fun, Pakistan International School Qatar recently organized ‘2022 FIFA World Cup Celebrations’.
The entire school was decorated with Qatari flags, colourful buntings, balloons, collages, and placards, depicting the school’s creative and innovative learning ideas. The festivities included many cultural, sports and recreational activities designed to celebrate the shared passion for football in light of the FIFA World Cup 2022, hosted by Qatar for the first time in the Arab world as well as in the Middle East.
The students, faculty and staff celebrated the day wholeheartedly through commemorative words, Qatar History quizzes, cultural performances, march past, football and throwball friendly matches, competitive classroom decorations and a good variety of traditional activities. Cladding in vibrant and colourful costumes, students participated in the World Cup celebrations with impressive performances.
The grand opening ceremony of the celebration was graced by the presence of the School’s Chief Guest, the Principal, Nargis Raza Otho, Vice Principals, Academic Heads of all five sections and HACD of the School. The festival was auspicated with the recital of verses from the Holy Quran followed by its translation.
The Chief Guest, Principal of Pakistan International School, Nargis Raza Otho took the salute of the impressive welcome parade of uniformed School students of all five wings. The students wearing jerseys of their favourite football players marched proudly with military precision and perfect synchronization.
The main attraction of the day was a representation of the Fifa world cup participating teams by the students, especially since the school allowed the students to choose and wear jerseys of their favourite team, provided that it is among the countries participating in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
At the end of the day, Madam, Principal, PISQ accompanied by Vice Principals and heads of all the five wings felicitated and awarded the winners of different events with appreciation certificates and gifts.
