DOHA: Noted Islamic scholar, Dr Yusuf Al Qaradawi, has quit a key Islamic research body of Al Azhar University, reports Al Sharq. Islamic Research Complex is an apex Islamic research body of Egypt.
The Doha-based Islamic scholar had earlier this month resigned from the advisory body within Al Azhar. He was a member of Al Azhar’s Supreme Clerical Committee.
Al Azhar’s Islamic Research Complex has 50 members who are renowned scholars from different schools of thought of Islam. Out of 50, not more than 20 members should be from out of Egypt.
