Doha, Qatar: Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center has concluded a training course in the Republic of Mauritius aimed at developing the skills of Arabic language teachers, with the participation of 43 male and female teachers from various educational levels.
This initiative comes as part of the Center’s commitment to sharing its expertise and experience with Islamic centers around the world in the field of Arabic language education.
The closing ceremony was attended by H E Osman Mohamed, Minister of Land Transport; Shakeel Mohamed, Minister of Lands; Fawzi Aliman, Deputy Minister of Local Government for Municipal Affairs; and Ihsan Gooman, a member of the Mauritian Parliament. The Center was represented by Sultan bin Saad Al Badr, Assistant Director of the Center. The course received wide media coverage in the local press in Mauritius.
In this context, Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al Marri, Director of the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, stated that these overseas training programmes represent valuable opportunities for exchanging expertise with similar educational institutions worldwide, thereby enhancing the spread of the Arabic language, facilitating cultural communication, and highlighting the importance of Arabic as a cultural bridge connecting many peoples around the world.
The course activities were held in cooperation with the Blue Crescent Association in the city of Phoenix. Participants included 20 male and female teachers from the primary stage and 23 teachers from other educational levels.
The course focused on developing skills in the use of modern technology for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, including the employment of the latest educational applications.
This aimed to enhance teaching methods, strengthen teachers’ abilities to address individual differences, improve pronunciation, reading, and conversation skills, and promote effective use of the classroom environment.
