Doha: The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani chaired the weekly Cabinet session at the Emiri Diwan yesterday.
Following the session, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs H E Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud said the Cabinet welcomed the outcome of the 20th session of Jerusalem Committee, held in Marrakesh on January 17-18 under the chairmanship of King Mohamed VI of Morocco.
The Cabinet stressed the importance of the final statement, including recommendations and positions, in the light of serious and escalating Israeli violations, aggressions and practices that require an urgent and firm international intervention to compel the Israeli occupation authorities to respect the international law and resolutions.
The Cabinet reiterated Qatar’s firm support for the rights of the Palestinian people, the foremost of which being their right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The session approved draft memorandums of understanding on cooperation between General Tourism Authority and Qatar Airways, Mowasalat and the supreme committee for projects and heritage.
It reviewed a letter from the Minister of Justice on the outcome of the 29th session of the Arab Justice Ministers Council in Sana’a last November and took the appropriate decision. QNA
