DOHA: QNB has sponsored the inaugural two-day MENA Universities Summit which begin today under the patronage of Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani.
The event, organised by Qatar University (QU) in partnership with Times Higher Education (THE) magazine, will be attended by over 200 delegates, including university and research leaders from around the world, representatives and policymakers from high education, research, innovation, business and government institutions and global industry leaders, investors and entrepreneurs.
Education is one of the six fields of focus for QNB’s CSR activities. QNB provides care and support for the education sector in Qatar and offers assistance to educational events abroad.
Qatar hosts some of the world’s most prestigious universities through Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
QNB offers programmes and scholarships for Qataris in most of these universities to graduate a qualified Qatari workforce.
The summit will feature consultations on the creation of an addition in the (THE) rankings portfolio: the MENA University Rankings taking into consideration the region’s challenges. It will also feature sessions on university leadership, international research and industry-university collaborations and teaching excellence.
