DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 68.65 points, or 0.76 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,096.36 points.
Trading value during last week decreased by 2.05 percent to reach QR792.68m compared to QR 809.27m in the prevous week.
Trading volume decreased by 9.02 percent to reach 32.92 million shares, as against 36.18 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 6.58 percent, to reach 13,489 transactions as compared to 14,439 transactions.
Market cap rose by 1.23 percent to reach QR487.36bn as compared to QR481.42bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 44.86 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 22.25 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 12.79 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 11.23 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 47.17 percent of the total traded volume. Industries sector accounted for 23.41 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 17.75 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 4.77 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 34.12 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 27.15 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 18.05 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 7.81 percent.
Out of the 45 companies listed on the QSE, 18 ended last week higher, while 23 fell and four remained unchanged, reports QNA.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 22.65 points, or 0.25 percent yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing at 9,119.01 points. The volume of shares traded decreased to 5.69 million from 6.91 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR135.54m from QR167.75m on Wednesday.
