Doha, Qatar: A lecture delivered by Omar Suleiman and organised by the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Cultural Center, was attended by 1,950 English-speaking participants from various nationalities.

Titled “How to Elevate Your Worship in Ramadan?,”the lecture was part of the center’s preparations for the holy month through hosting prominent preachers and scholars who provide guidance and spiritual direction to the community.

During the lecture, Omar Suleiman addressed several themes related to fasting, patience, self-discipline, raising one’s aspirations and determination, and moving beyond ritual acts of worship toward cultivating the acts of the heart as well.

He emphasised that the blessed month represents an opportunity for self-reform, refinement, and spiritual growth, ultimately attaining taqwa (God-consciousness), which is the foremost objective of fasting—an objective that can only be realised through fasting as prescribed by the religion.

The lecture witnessed a notably strong female attendance, with women comprising the majority of the audience. The attendees also represented a wide range of nationalities.

The Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani Mosque in The Pearl serves as an important hub attracting diverse audiences, and its administration, in cooperation with the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, regularly organises a number of distinguished events at the mosque.
