The second Qatar Halal Festival, aimed at reviving Qatar’s livestock industry, provides every visitor to Katara a glimpse of Qatari culture and heritage. Hundreds of sheep and goats of various breeds are on show and up for auction at the event, which also features competitions for the animals.
The processes involved in dairy production and turning sheep’s wool to yarn, which is then woven into fabric, can also be seen at the festival. The ten-day festival is being held at Katara’s south-east side.
