Doha: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday visited Ooredoo headquarters and met Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Saud, Chairman, Board of Directors, Ooredoo Group and Chief Executive, Qatar Investment Authority.
The Premier was briefed on Ooredoo’s plans to establish Qatar’s first smart city with Lusail Real Estate Development Company.
The Premier toured Ooredoo’s oasis lab and was briefed by Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani, Chief New Business Officer, Ooredoo, on features of smart cities such as recovery solutions to natural disasters, monitoring cameras and Wi-Fi services.
The Premier expressed support to the project and called for its completion on schedule.
Ooredoo is looking to provide innovative technology to residents and business people in Lusail in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 which aims to build a knowledge-based economy. QNA
