Doha: Chaliyar Doha, a prominent environmental organisation in Qatar, recently marked World Water Day.
World Water Day is celebrated every year on March 22, as recommended by the United Nations, and this year the theme was “Valuing Water”.
Chaliyar Doha conducted a ‘Water Walk’ aimed at sending the important message of preserving water for a better future. The walk was organized to raise awareness on water conservation and prevent water pollution.
The Water Day programme ended with the Water Day Pledge. Chaliyar Doha President Abdul Latheef Feroke led the oath and all participants in the function took the pledge to conserve and protect water by reducing the usage and spreading awareness. Chaliyar Doha Chief Adviser VC Mashhood, General Secretary Zameel Abdul Wahid- Chaliyam, Treasurer Kesavdas Nilambur, Ajmal Areekode, Basheer Kuniyil, CT Siddique, Ratheesh Kakkove, Koyakutty Faroke, NC Najmuddin, Unnikrishnan Vazhayoor, Basheer Cheekod have organized the programme sessions.
