China Mobile Ltd.’s profit climbed 7.7% for the full year as rising demand for business and home-network services made up for sluggish mobile user additions.
Net income at the world’s largest mobile operator for 2021 was 116.15 billion yuan ($18.2 billion), the company said on Wednesday, beating the 107.84 billion yuan estimate from a Bloomberg survey of brokerages. Operating revenue rose 10% to 848.26 billion yuan for the year, it said.
For the quarter ended Dec. 31, it reported profit of 28.9 billion yuan compared with 26.2 billion yuan a year earlier, a jump of 10%.
China Mobile announced a full-year dividend of HK$4.06 per share ($0.52), compared with HK$3.29 in 2020.
