Doha: The examination phase of the early childhood branch (males and females) of the 28th session of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Contest will kick off on Saturday, Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs announced yesterday.
The participants, both nationals and residents, will compete in memorising one of the last five sections of the Holy Quran.
Male contestants will be tested in Imam Muhammad ibn Abd Al Wahhab Mosque as of 15:30. The residents will be examined on March 25-28, while nationals on March 29-30. Exams for females will be held at Al Waab district as of 20:30 with residents being examined on March 25-27 and nationals on March 28-29.
The organising committee of the competition said that the evaluation process would utilise an electronic system initiated by the Ministry’s Information Systems Department several years ago. Valuable financial prizes will be awarded for all winners of the competition, the committee said.
