Doha: Ooredoo presented the organisers of the 12th Free Medical Camp with a significant donation, to support the costs of the 2013 event, as well as for future camps, the company said yesterday.
Organised by the Indian Islamic Association Qatar (IIAQ), the Indian Doctors Club (IDC) and the Indian Medical Association’s Qatar Chapter (IMA), the camp was attended by more than 5,000 low income workers who do not have easy access to healthcare facilities.
Thousands of people received free consultation, diagnostic tests, eye tests and health education at the camp, which was organised at the Tariq bin Ziyad Independent School for Boys.
Sponsored by Ooredoo, the camp was held in coordination with the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC).
“Ooredoo sponsors a wide range of community health initiatives to support every section of society. The Free Medical Camp has become an important annual fixture that protects the health of low income expatriates in Qatar, and we’re delighted to work with the network of volunteers and healthcare organisations that make it possible,” Fatima Sultan Al Kuwari, Director, Public Relations, Ooredoo, said.
“We hope our sponsorship will enable the camp to continue in the future,” she added.
Ooredoo works on a wide range of corporate social responsibility initiatives throughout the year, including healthcare programmes. The Peninsula
