MANAMA: Under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Bahrain is hosting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s Second Conference on National and Regional Security.
The two-day event is hosted by Bahrain's Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT).
The Advisor of King Hamad for Diplomatic Affairs and DERASAT's Board of Trustees' Chairman, Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Ghaffar, delivered the inaugural speech in which he thanked Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa for his patronage of this major conference.
Dr. Abdul-Ghaffar also welcomed the high-profile attendees and participants at the conference.
Citing the importance of the conference in the light of various challenges and their regional ramifications.
The conference sheds light on key issues of national and regional security of the Gulf Cooperation Council-member countries, current challenges, and future strategies to cope with these challenges, according to BNA, the Bahrain News Agency. (QNA)
