Doha: Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development is planning to foray into education sector. The company will construct schools for international firms who are willing to set up schools in Qatar.
“We are looking to get into an education sector. We have been approached by international school operators who would like to have presence in Qatar. So we are working with them to have schools for them,” Eng. Hamad bin Ali Al Hedfa, Chief Executive Officer, Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development told The Peninsula on the sidelines of its Ordinary General Assembly Meeting. “Our role will be as developer, building school for them. We have been in residential, commercial and retail but we have never been into the education sector,” he said.
Education is booming sector in Qatar and demand for school is rising due to increase in the populations. The real estate major is also planning to bid for projects in outside in order to pursue growth.
“This year we will be bidding for many projects in Qatar and outside Qatar. We are looking for opportunities in GCC countries and European countries,” he said.
The company is looking for joint ventures in other countries like Turkey, Spain, Bosnia and some others. He said that the demand of real estate is very strong in Qatar because of increase in population.
“We will always seek to develop our projects through our application of modern standards that combine latest technologies, design aesthetics, eco-friendliness, the foundations of sustainable development and respond to the requirements of the
communities,” said Mohamed Ali Al Kubaisi, board member, Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development.
“We have plans for cooperation with other sectors like health, education, tourism and sports and other sectors that will open up new horizons for real estate during the short term,” he added.
