With an objective to promote environmental awareness and sensitize students about the need for the protection of our planet, MES Indian School commemorated ‘The Earth Day’ on April 20 under the theme ‘Together, We Can Restore Our Earth’.

A special assembly was held virtually to celebrate the day, wherein the students gave speeches in their respective classes followed by students’ pledge to preserve and conserve their self-sustaining planet. The students of K.G-I to XII enthusiastically participated in various activities organized by the Campus Care Force during the 6th & 7th periods.

‘Be a Designer’ (painting) activity was organized for the Kindergarten. ‘Poster Designing’ for classes I-IV, ‘Best out of Waste’ for classes V-VIII and ‘Collage Making’ for classes IX and X provided students a platform to showcase their artistic and creative skills.

Students made creative products like wall hangings, cards, pen stands, bags, paper box, flowers and even beautiful dresses. ‘

Be a Reporter activity’ (PowerPoint Presentation) gave the students of Classes XI and XII an opportunity to play the role of young environment reporters and these budding, inquisitive journalists compiled interesting reports in the form of power-point on various environmental issues like adverse effects of rampant construction activities, cutting down of trees, pollution, destruction of forest and extinction of wild life etc.

Virtual Certificates were awarded to encourage the students for their active participation.

Hameeda Kadar, Principal appreciated the efforts of the students and urged them to be grateful to the Mother Earth for all its bountiful gifts in the form of flora, fauna and beautiful landscapes.

The teachers-incharge of the day’s event were Jency George, Celci Sebastian, Sumayyabi Shanuj, Sibby Shaji, and Nisha George
