Embassy promotes education opportunities in Indonesia

Doha: The Embassy of Indonesia in Qatar has launched the second edition of Indonesian Education Expo 2025 Qatar to promote higher education opportunities in the country. 

The two-day expo being held on Friday and Saturday (from 9am to 5pm) at Waldorf Astoria Hotel West Bay is aimed at both, the international community as well as Indonesian expats in Qatar. 

It aims to open up extensive information to the wider community in Qatar on the progress of higher education in Indonesia which is able to answer the needs of the community in facing global challenges.

This year’s expo promises even greater opportunities, featuring a variety of higher education offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs, exclusive scholarships to empower Indonesian’s next generation of global leaders as well as knowledge on how to win scholarships. 

Targeting individuals aged 16 and above, the two-day exhibition is designed to appeal to a diverse audience, including students, parents, educational counsellors, school administrators, career advisors, and professionals looking to further their academic education.

The universities present this year include Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Padjajaran, Institute Teknologi Bandung, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Universitas Bina Nusantara (BINUS), Universitas Sampoerna, Swiss-German University (SGU) and LSPR Institute of Communication and Business.

“The international community in Qatar should use this opportunity to see the opportunity to continue higher education in Indonesia that is internationally competitive,” said 

H E Ridwan Hassan, Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar. Ambassador Ridwan Hassan also emphasised his commitment with the embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Qatar to open access to information and opportunities available in Indonesia in various fields, including education, to the wider community.

Currently more than 2,000 students from Indonesia are living in Qatar, some of whom are at the stage of preparation to enter higher education. it is time for them to be given comprehensive information on education programmes and diversity of choices for continuing their education.

“The Indonesian Embassy facilitates the needs of the Indonesian people and the international community in Qatar for information on the quality of higher education in Indonesia through activities like this,” said Ivan Rismi Polontalo, Coordinator of Information, Social and Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Qatar.

He added that this activity can be carried out well thanks to the good cooperation of the Embassy and the Indonesian community in Qatar and of course the support of the Government and the people of Qatar.
