Qatar boosts coasts and border security

Doha: Coasts and Borders Security Department (CBSD) celebrated graduation ceremony of a number of courses as well as launching of marine simulation devices by the training section of the Department recently.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of the Director General of Public Security (DGPS) Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi at the end of the training season for this year.

The DGPS admired the efforts of Coasts and Borders Security Department for its development and updates at all levels, its attention in aspects of training and raising the efficiency of its staff according to the size and nature of its role. 

He said he witnessed the excitement and seriousness not only in the graduates of the 11 courses but also in employees of the Department and their interest in scientific and practical education.

He added that the launching of the marine simulation devices from the training section of the department is proof that the department  is moving in the right direction.

The CBSD Director Navy Staff Brigadier Ali Ahmed Albadid emphasised on the major and important role played by the Qualification and Training Section of the Department as they contributed to raising the efficiency of the staff of the department, especially as the section includes a distinguished group of academicians and outstanding national cadre.

 He explained that the department is working on fields of development including manpower, equipment and training. The CBSD will evaluate the performance in the training for further development 

The graduation ceremony was commenced with a speech from Head of Qualification and Training Section at the Department First Lt Abdul Rahman Al Ibrahim. 

He pointed out to the importance of the courses and efforts of the training section in conducting these different courses that include in advanced navigational devices for the officers, functions of coastal patrols and driving boats, among others.

Later the Director General of Public Security honoured the graduates and presented certificates. 

He then launched the marine simulation devices and listened to a briefing about the importance of the role played by the device in the field of training, which is considered as the most sophisticated and modern means in the field of training. 

The simulation system will be completed in three stages and it aims to train employees of the Department in driving powerboats in an environment similar to reality, which will boost the level of trainees and give them more confidence to reduce errors and raise the efficiency in using the boats.
