DOHA: ExxonMobil honoured H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, the President of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, as the recipient of the Dewhurst Award at the just-concluded 21st World Petroleum Congress (WPC) in Moscow.
The award was presented to Al Attiyah by the WPC for his role as the main architect of Qatar’s energy transformation.
The prestigious Dewhurst Award is the highest honour bestowed by the WPC and recognises the contributions of recipients who are well known throughout the industry and have demonstrated extraordinary achievements over many years.
“H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah is one of the great men responsible for creating modern-day Qatar,” said Mark Albers, Senior Vice-President of Exxon Mobil Corporation. “He joins an exclusive and distinguished list of past Dewhurst Award winners that make up a group of pioneers who have shaped the global oil and gas industry. We are honoured to pay tribute to an extraordinary career and to celebrate ExxonMobil’s extraordinary friendship with His Excellency and the government and the people of Qatar.”
The event was attended by senior executives from Qatar Petroleum, RasGas, Qatargas, the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority and ExxonMobil.
