Ankara: Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said that the region and the world do not need more conflicts, but rather more effective and reliable diplomacy.

Commenting on the US attack targeting nuclear facilities in Iran, Yilmaz said in his official X account that the US' intervention in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran has led to a new and deeply worrying escalation.

He explained that the Israeli aggression against Iran, which he described as "illegal," had caused great tension in the region, adding that the US' involvement gives the crisis more dangerous dimensions.

Yilmaz warned that continued escalation and the absence of a diplomatic path could lead to disastrous consequences for regional and international security, stressing that the just and realistic way to deal with Iran's nuclear program is to halt attacks and return to the negotiating table within the framework of international law.

Turkiye will continue to defend human values, the rule of law, justice, and stability, and seek peaceful solutions to conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy, he added.

US President Donald Trump announced yesterday that US forces had carried out a "very successful attack" on three nuclear sites in Iran, targeting the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan facilities.

Since dawn on Friday, June 13, Iranian cities, including Tehran, have been subjected to large-scale air and missile attacks launched by the Israeli entity. Iran responded with a series of military actions using long-range missiles and drones, a dangerous escalation that threatens to widen the scope of the confrontation in the region.
