DOHA: Real estate in Al Mirqab area of Doha continues to carry a premium as land and housing prices in the posh and sprawling locality have been soaring.
A plot of land admeasuring 1,656sqm was sold in Al Mirqab for QR250m last week. The rate per sqm works out to QR151,000 ($41,457).
The least expensive piece of property (a plot of land) in these times of soaring property prices was, on the other hand, sold in Al Shamal (North) in the week (July 13 to 17).
The plot admeasuring 450 sqm in Al Kabaan town of Al Shamal was sold for QR450,000, at a rate of QR1,000sqm.
A total of 141 real estate deals took place last week, mostly involving small plots of land or small housing units.
The units and plots were distributed almost equally across the country, including 33 plots and units in Al Rayyan, 28 in Doha, 23 in Umm Salal and Al Rayyan each and 18 in Al Wakra. Most plots were between 420sqm and 1,000sqm.
However, the smallest housing unit, admeasuring 320sqm, was in Rawdat Al Khail, popularly known as Al Muntazah. It went up for sale for QR9m.
Details of real estate registrations for the week were announced by the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice yesterday.
Deals valued a little more than QR1.3bn, indicating that demand for real estate continues to grow at a stable pace.
