Doha: The Foreign Minister H E Dr Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah received a phone call from US Secretary of State John Kerry, They discussed latest developments in the Gaza Strip. Dr Al Attiyah also held telephone talks with his Turkish counterpart Dr Ahmet Davutoglu on latest developments in Gaza and ways to stop the Israeli aggression on the Palestinian people.
Sidra contract terminated
DOHA: Qatar Foundation (QF) yesterday announced that it had terminated a contract for design and construction of Sidra facilities in Doha.
The contract was awarded in 2008 to OHL Internacional/Contrack (Cyprus) Ltd as a joint venture, QF said in a statement.
Sidra Medical and Research Centre is an ultramodern, all-digital academic medical facility which will set new standards in patient care for women and children in Qatar and internationally. It was initially scheduled to open in 2001 and the opening has been postponed until 2015. Sidra has three missions of world-class patient care, medical education and biomedical research.
