Mall of Qatar (MoQ) opened an exhibition titled ‘Made in Qatar Food Market’ to promote food items produced by Qataris.
‘Made in Qatar Food Market’ features around 15 Qataris who run home-business and sell their food items through social media sites. The food include pasta, pickles and cakes, among others.
Some of the businesses featured in the exhibition include Ninety-Four, Lazaza, ND Choco Color, Shay Al Shoomos and Goody Maker, among others. The exhibitors displayed food items ranging from traditional and authentic food items to recipes and new kinds of foods that were created by the Qataris themselves. The market, opened on Monday, will continue until September 10.

Ninety-Four (94) a food chain which is popular among all other local food chains due to their taste and reasonable price range. The specialty of this food chain is that the owner herself cooks the food.
Talking to The Peninsula, Sheikha Al Kuwari, owner of Ninety-Four (94) said: “I chose all the products made in Qatar which makes my everything stand out itself. I chose to make food myself which includes, Pasta for QR35, Risotto for QR35, Mojito and ice-cream for QR15. This price range is affordable for everyone, soon I am planning to open a bus which will move around the city and sell the food items on demand.”
“The concept is of live-cooking, the bus will move around and do live cooking for the customers. This is our first opportunity to come here and share our ideas and taste with everyone,” she added.

ND Chocó Color is an exciting range of mouth-watering homemade mini-balls pancakes which has range of flavors that include different chocolate flavors such as Nutella, Galaxy, Kindder and pistachio. These pancakes have cheese with Omani chips flavor. They offer a special range of Redbull with all flavors of cotton candies.
“We came in the market with exceptionally new ideas which you cannot find anywhere. Offering all the colors in cotton candy with Redbull is the bestseller of my company so far. This is a brand new company in the market, I started this on a very small scale and now as the demand has been increased definitely I will open an outlet very soon,” said Dana AlTamimi, owner of ND Choco Color.
People at Mall of Qatar’s ‘Made in Qatar Food Market’ enjoyed the wide range of delicious sweets and food made by their owners. Locals encouraged their children to get the ideas of such food chains when they are old enough to start a new setup.

Maryam, a local mother of three kids present at the food market said: “This is extremely exciting to see young girls coming up with such innovative ideas and implementing them. I have always ordered from these setups which are homemade, this encourages these young people to do more good with efforts.”
“My daughters get inspired by cooking, they always say they want to cook themselves as well. This market made me proud, during this blockade we have come to know that Qatar can stand tall and alone and fight against any type of blockade,” she added.

Goody Maker is a concept of children preparing their own cakes with colorful cake fondants. Goody maker provides children cakes which they can decorate themselves and indulge themselves in an exciting experience.
“I make cakes covered with white fondant, I give children each cake to create their own designs on top of these cakes. They chose their own colors and shapes to give them their own identity. We provide them with cake stencils, cutters, rolling stencils and many more items to make their cakes look beautiful. We provide these services on children birthday parties and celebrations,” said Moza Abdullah Al Abdul Jabbar, owner of Goody Maker.
