Doha:  Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Ambulance Service participated in the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and Safety Road Forum at St Regis Doha Hotel recently.

As part of the forum, which brought together road safety experts to discuss latest developments and issues in the field, HMC Ambulance Service’s Chief Operations Officer  Brendon Morris and Rashid Andaila, Operations and Public Relations Manager, gave a presentation on the crucial role the Ambulance Service plays in saving lives.

They shed light on Ambulance Service’s operating principles, infrastructure, deployable resources, the dispatch response process and main challenges the organisation faces, including awareness and the increase in demand for services.

“Our participation in this event was important as it provided an ideal opportunity to meet key stakeholders and road safety experts to discuss future cooperation and potential for sharing technological support,” Morris said.

“The aim is to deliver a safe, efficient and sustainable transport network together.”

The Ambulance Service also had a stand at the event as part an exhibition on the sidelines.

“Being part of this event was a great opportunity for us to talk to the public about our ‘Know the 5 to Save Life’ campaign,” Andaila said. “The campaign aims to save lives by asking the public to help us help them. Often the first person on the scene of an emergency can play a crucial role in saving a life.’
