DOHA: The Indian embassy has decided to keep journalists out of its monthly Open House held to address any urgent consular and labour issues of community members.
“Salient information would be sent to the media after the Open House,” the mission said in a press release yesterday.
Usually a press briefing will be held after the monthly event and journalists are informed about the major concerns of the community. “There won’t be a session with the media and information would be sent after the Open House,” Suman Sharma, Second Secretary, told The Peninsula yesterday. However, she didn’t explain reasons behind the decision to keep the media out of the ‘Open House.’
The Open House at the embassy for September will be held on Thursday between 5.30pm and 6.30pm. The public could submit their written complaints between 5.30pm and 6pm. Officials will meet the public between 6pm and 6.30pm.
