London: The International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS) yesterday announced that Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros — CEO of ICSS Europe and Latin America and former CEO of the European Football Leagues — Umberto Gandini, Vice-president, European Clubs Association, Javier Tebas, President, Spanish La Liga, and Bobby Barnes, President, FIFPro and Deputy CEO of the English Professional Footballers Association, will speak at Securing Sport 2014.
With growing concerns around the financial integrity and transparency of sport, the four football heavyweights will come together on the panel entitled: “All about the Money! Financial Integrity and Transparency in Sport” to address a range of topics, including financial fair play, third party ownership, corporate governance, club ownership and transparency in sport.
The panel shall be preceded by a presentation by Kimberley Morris, Head of the FIFA TMS, on the financial dimension of the international players’ transfer market and the most critical challenges currently facing the financial integrity of the beautiful game.
Taking place at Lancaster House on the 6th and 7th of October 2014 with the conference theme of ‘Sport under threat: the game is ours to win’, Securing Sport 2014 is an invite-only event that will bring together ministers, high-level leaders and international experts from sport,
betting, government, civil society, law enforcement and anti-corruption.
Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Chief Executive of ICSS Europe and Latin America, said: “I am glad to join three of the most senior figures from the world of football in this high-level panel. We will definitely provide an important insight into some of the most significant issues affecting the transparency and financial integrity of sport. I would like to thank my friends Umberto, Javier and Bobby for agreeing to take part in Securing Sport 2014 and look forward to their valuable contribution to this year’s event.”
