Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company participated in a joint breast cancer awareness campaign with all-staff at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.
The event hall was swept by a sea of pink as large number of female employees of Qatari Diar, its subsidiaries and contractors endorsed the awareness drive on breast cancer, which is the number one disease that afflicts women in Qatar, according to state agencies.
Joining them were guest speakers from partnering organisers, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, Hoss Vetry, Hamad Medical Corporation, Dr Salha Bujassoum, National Centre for Cancer Care & Research, Dr Hekmat Bugrein, Al Amal Hospital, Amal Nasser Al Saif, and others.
Sessions ranged from early detection of breast cancer and breast cancer prevention to introduction of screening and mammograms, and cancer fighting foods. Cancer survivors moved the audience by narrating their personal stories and reaffirmed their belief that the disease can be challenged when addressed effectively.
Qatari Diar Chief Administration Officer, Abdullatif Mohamed Al Noaimi said, “Qatari Diar’s participation in this event, now in its second year, demonstrates the company’s support to the campaign to create awareness in general public and reach out to the youth of Qatar. In tackling cancer, it is often crucial to respond powerfully and swiftly through a grassroots campaign.”
“I am confident that through events like these we are not only spreading awareness but also sending out a strong message of hope,” said Ali Al Ghamdi, Employee Relations and Performance Manager, Qatari Diar.
Hope was a theme that was etched on a canvas forever thanks to an in-house campaign by Qatari Diar Nursery, whose Gumdrops kids (age 3 plus) participated in their own little way by “painting for a cause”. The painting, titled HOPE, was on display at the day-long event, named the Pink Ribbon Campaign Day. It was later donated to Al Amal Hospital by Qatari Diar.

As part of our commitment to the cause, we will do everything in our power to heighten awareness, educate the stakeholders, control and eventually eradicate this deadly disease,” said Hoss Vetry, Cluster GM, Ritz-Carlton, Doha and Sharq Village and Spa.
A full-ranging breast awareness workshop, with practical overviews, hints and tips, questions and answers and registration for breast cancer screening clinic also featured.
