Representatives sing the national anthem during the constituent assembly of the German parliament at the Reichstag building in Berlin, yesterday. The parliament met yesterday for the first time since general election in September 2013. The meeting of the 631-strong Bundestag comes a day before Chancellor Angela Merkel is due to lead the first round of negotiations with the main opposition Social Democrats to forge a new coalition government.
