Lekhwiya defeat Al Wakra, Wolves held

DOHA: Lekhwiya defeated Al Wakra 2-0 at their home ground here yesterday while Al Sadd were held 1-1 by Al Sailiya.
Vadimir Weiss scored in the 68th minute for Lekhwiya and Ahmed Yasser Aziz sealed the game in the 84th minute for the hosts. With this victory, Lekhwiya secured their spot at the top of the QSL standings after eight rounds with seven wins from eight matches.
Al Sadd, who are now second in the standings, took the lead early through a ninth-minute goal by Hasan Al Haydos but just at the end of the first-half Al Sailiya were handed the equaliser through an own goal by The Wolves’ own defender Lee Jung-Soo.
Al Shamal, who are languishing in the bottom of the standings, went down 3-1 to fourth-placed Qatar SC. H. Harbaoui gave Qatar SC the lead in the 18th minute but Al Shamal equalised in the 35th minute through M. Haddad. Y. Mohamed gave back the lead to Qatar SC just before the first half and M. Al Allaq hammered in the fourth in the second half.
Meanwhile, Al Ahli hammered Al Kharitiyat 4-0 at Al Arabi Stadium. THE PENINSULA
