Doha: Maersk Oil Qatar (MOQ) and Qatar Petroleum hosted Qatar’s first corporate challenge event on November 17 and 18 in the desert environment of the Zekreet peninsula.

Over 105 participants from 21 teams representing 18 different local companies and organisations competed over two exhilarating days – pitting their leadership skills and physical fitness against each another. The hotly contested competition not only raised awareness of diabetes, but it also raised $100,000 for the Maersk Oil initiated ‘Action on Diabetes’ partnership.

“The Maersk Oil & QP challenge event was a great success” said Lewis Affleck, Managing Director of Maersk Oil Qatar and a keen participant in the competition.

Set in the spectacular Zekreet peninsula, teams combined mental agility with strong physical performance over four demanding stages.

Overall victory was claimed by the Maersk Oil team; ‘Walk in the Park’.  The Peninsula
