Solidarity drive backed by community police

Doha: The Community Policing Sections at Capital, North, Rayyan and Dukhan Security Departments organised an open meet with students and management of Philippine School Doha in collaboration with the media committee of Qatar National Solidarity Campaign with the people of Philippines and Somalia. 
The meeting was attended by the head of public relations committee of the campaign, Ali Al Kuwari, head of Community Policing at North Security Department Lt Col Ahmed Zayed Al Muhannadi, head of community policing at Rayyan Security Lt Col Sultan Mohammed Al Kaabi, community policing officer at Capital Security Captain Khalifa Mubarak Al Kaabi and representatives from humanitarian and charity organisations. The school Principal, Alexander Acosta, hailed Qatar’s efforts to support victims of natural disasters in the Philippines and Somalia.
Lt Col Al Muhannadi stressed the Interior Ministry’s support for humanitarian work and consolidating social solidarity as well as participation in humanitarian projects in cooperation with humanitarian foundations in Qatar.
He thanked children from various communities and civil society institutions for their contributions to the campaign.
A documentary film prepared by students the school on stories of those affected by floods and typhoons in the Philippines and Somalia was also screened.
The Peninsula
