Doha: Qatar Red Crescent (QRC)’s Secretary–General Saleh bin Ali Al Mohannadi and Qatar Charity (QC)’s CEO Yusuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari signed an alliance agreement at QRC headquarters to push forward their organisations’ cooperation and help them achieve common goals in an integral manner in several humanitarian and charity projects.
Through this alliance, both parties aim to achieve goals such as: the allocation of roles in terms of field presence and the size of the projects in different countries, mutual capacity-building, maximisation of resource mobilisation opportunities, promotion of opportunities to influence development and humanitarian issues relevant to their scope of international and regional work, and the development of best practices.
The agreement provides for the development of jointly coordinated annual plans, taking into account the objectives of this strategic alliance in accordance with a defined methodology. The annual joint plans will comprise a set of well-considered projects.
To ensure the effectiveness and continuity of the alliance, QRC and QC shall allocate QR10m  annually as self-financing for projects of joint cooperation.
QRC’s Al Mohannadi said that the pact culminates joint efforts and agreements in previous years. He stressed that this strategic partnership “will have an impact on the agreed humanitarian and development aspects”.
QC’s Yusuf bin Ahmed said: “In QC, we have an outlook. This agreement with QRC will contribute to our joint presence, will enhance opportunities for our organisations to influence development and humanitarian issues at the regional and international level, and will enable both organisations to cope with Qatar’s leading role in the humanitarian field.”
The agreement has been put into action since it was signed and approved by the two parties.
