Belgian ambassador praises Qatar ties

Doha: Belgium Business Club Qatar is the first of its kind community forum that has registered with Qatar Financial Center, according to Luk Kelles, Chairman, BBCQ. 
He was talking to reporters on the occasion of BBCQ first anniversary celebrations at W Hotel Doha. He said BBCQ is registered as a limited liability company under and can operate its bank account and other financial transactions. 
“We are happy to celebrate BBCQ’s first anniversary since it brought two additional feathers to us — QFC’s umbrella and Sheikh Turki bin Faisal bin Qasim Al Thani as BBCQ Honorary President,” Luk said.
Under the theme ‘Qatar Meets Belgium’, BBCQ and the Belgium embassy hosted dinner, attended by Qatari & Belgium business community members. 
Christophe Maters, Vice-Chairman, BBCQ, gave a presentation on bilateral needs and who both sides can benefit from each other’s resources. 
Belgian Ambassador Christophe Payot praised contribution of Belgian business community in Qatar to strengthening trade between both countries.
He said many Belgian companies are involved in prestigious infrastructure projects in Qatar and he is proud that these companies are part of Qatar’s historic development.
The ambassador stressed that  Belgium nationals have expertise many sectors, including energy, construction and  renewable energy and Belgium also can benefit from Qatar’s experience to help strengthen bilateral relations.
