Chinese Ambassador Gao Youzhen hosted a banquet at the official residence in honour of the Chinese national team delegation in Doha to participate in the Asian Hockey Championship. Qatar Hockey Association Secretary-General, Qatar Gymnastics Association President and other sporting dignitaries attended the reception.
Ambassador Gao thanked Qatar for hosting the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2012, which is a very important international event, and thanked Qatar for the reception and arrangements for the Chinese national team. Ambassador Gao pointed out that Qatar successfully held the International Sports Forum and now is organising Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2012, and will also host football World Cup in 2022. “China is willing to actively participate in the preparatory work of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and willing to provide all possible help for Qatar in terms of the experiences of successful hosting Beijing Olympics.”
