In connection with Qatar National Day, Malarvadi Children’s Organisation – Qatar Chapter conducted a inter-school quiz competition. More than 300 children from eight Indian schools participated in the preliminary round, with two winners from each school going to the final round, held at the IIA auditorium. Thirty-two children were selected for the final round in the junior and senior categories.
In the senior category, MES Indian school bagged the first place with 235 points, and in the junior category, Ideal Indian School took the first position with 160 points. In the senior category, Jibran Mahmoud and Mohmed Ashiq (MES Indian School), Fahana Rasheed and Navaneeth Mohamed (Doha Modern Indian School), and Sarang S Nambiar and Saurabh S Nambiar (DPS – Modern Indian School) were placed first, second and third, respectively. Among the juniors, Mohamed Shamim and Shabeen Shams (Ideal Indian School), Ameen Ahmed Ali and Danish Naushad (Birla Public School) and Khadeeja Moopan and Sandra Ramachandran (DPS – Modern Indian School) won first, second and third place respectively.
Voice of Kerala Qatar programme director Yadeendran gave away the prizes to the winners, while IIA secretary K Abdul Salam and Malarvadi Coordinator Abdul Latheef V P distributed mementos to all the finalists.
The Peninsula
