Wyndham Grand Regency Doha has been awarded the “Wyndham Green” award for sustainability by Wyndham Hotel Group. Unveiled at the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa Awards Event held at Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour, the accolade places Wyndham Grand Regency Doha among the very best in the company’s global portfolio.
In addition to completing energy saving initiatives such as replacing halogen lighting with LEDs, reducing energy consumption from lighting by almost 75 percent, the hotel was chosen to be the first in Doha to join the Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC). The hotel has also worked with the QGBC to co-found the 1st Green Hotel Interest Group.
“We are delighted to be given this honour and it is testament to the hard word and ‘green thinking’ attitude of our wonderful staff that we have been given this recognition,” said the hotel’s general manager Ayman Lotfy (pictured). “We look forward to continuing our Wyndham Green programme and working towards further reducing our carbon footprint.”The Peninsula
