Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani sent a cable of congratulations to Beji Caid Essebsi on his election as the President of Tunisia, wishing him success.
The Deputy Emir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani also sent a cable of congratulations to Essebsi.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable to the President.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed Qatar’s aspirations that the victory would contribute to building a state of institutions and maintaining Tunisia’s security, stability and prosperity in a way that fulfils the aspirations of the Tunisian people.
It stressed Qatar’s full support to the government and people and its aspiration for new prospects of cooperation.

Doha: The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday met Swedish Ambassador Ewa Bjorling and discussed cooperation and matters of mutual concern.
The Premier also met Eritrean Ambassador Ali Ibrahim Ahmed and reviewed matters of mutual concern and means of bolstering cooperation. In a separate meeting, the Premier held talks with outgoing Spanish Ambassador Carmen De La Pena and wished the envoy success in future posting. QNA
