Al Rumaihi triumphs as Qatari riders shine

Qatari riders dominated the proceedings as Mubarak Yousuf Al Rumaihi guided Vivaldi K to a convincing victory in competition five, the ‘one round against the clock with jump-off - Art. 238.2.2 - 135cm’ event at the Qatar Equestrian Federation Arena yesterday.
Experienced rider Al Rumaihi was quicker than Qatar’s star rider, Olympian Hamad Al Attiyah, astride Cassander Van Het Bremhof, and cleared the obstacles clocking 30.36 seconds to bag QR 11,250.
Al Attiyah spent 32.59 seconds to earn the second position and a prize of QR 9,000 as Salman Mohammed Al Emadi, who guided Zorro Z, clocked 33.03 seconds to complete the all-Qatari affair at the victory ceremony.
Rashid Al Marri, another Qatari rider, guided Beyonce and clocked 33.96 seconds for the fourth position while Abdulrahman Mufhid Alhamazani of Saudi Arabia, astride Birgitta, clocked 34.53 seconds to wrap up the top five in the QR 45,000 event.
Earlier in competition four, FEI rider Al Al Khorafi, astride Ungarin 4, cruised to a comfortable win the 120cm class (Art. 238.2.2), clocking a time of 33.72 seconds to bag QR 8,750 in prize money. Qatari rider Mohammed Salem Al Marr, astride Coca de Alba secured the second place with a time of 40.07 seconds to win QR 7,000 while Saudi Arabian jokey Khaled Abdulaziz Al Eid, guided Moustic Des Flayelles for a third place finish in 40.63 seconds in the QR 35,000 event.
His fellow countrymen Abdulaziz Aleid astride Plus, spent 41.95 seconds while Meshal Alhumaidi Alharbi guided Daimond to secure the fourth and fifth places respectively.
