Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index gained 203.78 points,1.99 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,427.91 points. Trading value during last week decreased by 31.99 percent to reach QR1.10bn compared to QR1.63bn registered during the previous week.
Trading volume decreased by 43.09 percent to reach 31.29 million shares, as against 54.98 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 30.29 percent , to reach 15,229 transactions as compared to 21,845 transactions. Market cap last week rose by 2.01 percent to reach QR562.08bn as compared to QR551.01bn at the end of the previous week. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 54.08 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 14.83 percent . Real Estate sector accounted for 12.80 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 6.39 percent . Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume last week with 40.44 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 23.76 percent . Telecoms sector accounted for 15.32 percent and Industries sector accounted for 9.12 percent .
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 40.48 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 20.67 percent .
Real Estate sector accounted for 15.66 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 7.72 percent . Of the 44 listed companies, 26 ended last week higher, while 16 fell and two remained unchanged. Masraf Al Rayan led trading value during this week accounted for 20.45 percent of the total trading value. QNB accounted for 19.61 percent and Industries Qatar accounted for 5.39 percent, reports QNA.
When compared on daily basis, QSE’s benchmark index gained 35.76 points, or 0.34 percent, when the bourse closed trading at 10,427.91. The volume of shares traded yesterday decreased to 7.01 million from 8.17 million on Wednesday, and the value of shares also decreased to QR259.54m from QR318.77m on Wednesday.
Of the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 37 saw trading yesterday. From these 18 gained and 18 companies closed lower, while one remained unchanged.
