Riyadh: HE Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, welcomed the agreement concerning the exchange of prisoners in Yemen, which was signed today in Muscat, the capital of Oman.
The Secretary-General commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen, and the International Committee of the Red Cross in reaching this agreement.
Al Budaiwi also expressed his hope that this agreement will contribute to strengthening the path to peace and stability in the Republic of Yemen, alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people, and building trust between the parties.
