Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received yesterday a telephone call from President of the Republic of Yemen Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. Discussions dealt with bilateral ties and ways of developing them.
Doha: The Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah yesterday visited Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Exhibition “ A Story of a Leader”, held at Qatar Museums Authority Hall in Katara.
The exhibition presents the evolution of Qatar through three stages, the first of which is the beginning of the reign of Sheikh Abdullah and the dawn of the modern State of Qatar. The second sheds light on the old palace, telling the history of the palace itself and the life of the ruling family in it, in addition to its geographical location and its importance as a centre of power in Qatar. The final phase focuses on the modern era, as it shows converting the palace into the first museum in Qatar in 1975, and displays the ambitious plans drawn up by the Qatar Museums Authority to develop the old palace into the new National Museum of Qatar.QNA
