The 2017 MXGP season kicked off at the Losail International Circuit with riders vying for top honours at the Qatar leg of the championship.
In the MXGP qualifying race yesterday, Tim Gajser of Slovania kicked off his season by topping the charts.
The defending MXGP world champion Gajser who put together an amazing and surprising rookie season last year is a top contender this year. Earlier in the free practice, Italian Antonio Cairoli of Red Bull Ktm Factory Racing Rac KTM came first followed by French’s Jordi Tixier of Monster Energy Kawasaki Kawasaki closely following the leader while another Frenchman and team-mate Romain Febvre finished in third place.
Today, Race 1 and Race 2 of MXGP will be held along with MX2 races.
