Protesters and riot police are involved in a standoff after students stormed the Executive Yuan building in Taipei yesterday. Taiwan’s president Ma Ying-jeou refused to scrap a contentious trade agreement with China and denounced what he called the illegal occupation of parliament by protesters opposed to its ratification.
