• People have demanded that the health authorities build dedicated parking spaces for ambulances, which have expensive equipment inside. Leaving the vehicles in the sun for long hours can damage the equipment, therefore they need covered parking space.
• It has been suggested that school curricula include lessons on traffic-related issues to increase students’ awareness of the risks of speeding and violating traffic rules.
• People have demanded that ambulances, Civil Defence staff, traffic police and security forces be stationed at specific points along highways outside Doha to enable them to respond quickly in the event of an emergency. They say highways in areas far from Doha seem to be neglected and rescue operations there take a long time as the emergency service personnel need to arrive from Doha.
• Many administrators and heads of departments have complained about the decision to cut the perks and other benefits they were receiving before the restructuring of ministries and state institutions. They say they still hold the same positions and have the same responsibilities as before, therefore they should be paid as before.
• Many people have urged the authorities to built multi-storey parking lots on Grand Hamad Street, where there is an acute shortage of parking space. It is one of the main streets in Doha and many businessmen visit the area daily.
