Doha: The Minister of Youth and Sports H E Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali yesterday opened activities of the Arab-Asian forum for heads of youth hostels, being organised by Qatar Youth Hostels Association (QYHA).
The two-day form brings together Arab and Asian countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, Egypt, Iraq, Tunisia, Lebanon, China, India, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines and Pakistan.
The Minister said Qatar provided all aspects of support for young Qataris, stressing the ministry’s keenness to make available all facilities for the success of the event.
He also launched the new QYHA logo which reflects Qatar’s identity and heritage.
Abdulaziz Al Ammari, Head of QYHA and President of Arab Youth Hostels Union, highlighted the importance of the forum, saying it seeks to build coordination between participating countries.
They can conduct joint studies and exchange experiences to advance the movement of hostels, he added.
