The Department of Admissions in the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies has announced that 308 students have been accepted out of more than 14,000 applicants from all over the world for the Master’s programmes for the academic year 2023-2024.

The applicants are distributed over the 19 programmes, with 207 students in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, and 101 students in the School of Economics, Administration and Public Policy.

At the rate of 35 percent, Qatari students have topped the list of admissions for this year which were received during the admission period that lasted till January 20.

Dr. Ibrahim Fraihat, Dean of Students Affairs, clarified that all students’ applications for the different programmes undergo a competitive evaluation process and include personal interviews with the teachers of the DI. The main evaluation indicators were the outstanding academic achievement of the student at the undergraduate level, research capabilities, proficiency in both Arabic languages, the student’s knowledge in his own major and their contribution to the community.

As per the academic calendar of the DI, August 20 will mark the start of the academic year 2023-2024 as the ninth cohort of DI students since its start in 2015. Admission for the academic year 2024-2025 will be open on September 1.
